Research interests:

I have broad interests in a variety of topics within computer vision, machine learning, and robotics. A few topics I have been looking at recently are

• Machine learning on matrix manifolds
• Deep learning models for human pose estimation
• Information retrieval
• Dictionary learning and sparse coding
• Activity recognition

Bio:

Prior to joining ANU, I was a postdoc with the LEAR team at INRIA, Grenoble, France, under Dr. Cordelia Schmid and Dr. Julien Mairal. I obtained my PhD at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA, in January 2013 under Prof. Nikolaos Papanikolopoulos. Before that I worked as a software design engineer with Microsoft Corporation for about five years.
